Working with Blustrat on Jasmine Discovers Tech 3.0 (our 3rd year) was a powerful and seamless collaboration that advanced our mission to reach one million girls in tech ,which we launched in 2023. Their dedication, structure, and shared vision made them the perfect partner for this ambitious project. They stood out because of their commitment to grassroots engagement, their ability to mobilize communities quickly, and their professionalism in execution. From coordinating volunteers to managing reading sessions across multiple cities, they showed up with excellence at every step. As a result of the project, we were able to reach 1,418 girls through 23 book reading sessions, powered by 25 volunteers, 15 sponsors, and 20 incredible hosts—including 12 organizations, 7 schools, and 1 passionate individual—across 8 locations. This impact would not have been possible without their strong coordination and support. I’d recommend Blustrat to others because they are mission-driven, highly collaborative, and get the job done. They’re not just partners—they’re co-builders in delivering education and opportunity to the next generation.

Working with Edutech Advocate Limited (now Blustrat) to design and implement a youth empowerment and capacity-building program in the Afijio community was a truly remarkable experience for us at SADI. The program successfully identified and trained 100 young indigenes in vocational and technical skills—specifically Facility Management, Hair Care & Beauty, and Supply Chain Management. From planning to execution, the Edutech team brought exceptional professionalism, deep subject-matter expertise, and impressive efficiency. The training was hands-on, well-structured, and aligned with industry standards—exactly what we needed to drive real, lasting impact. Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we are already witnessing the practical application of the skills acquired in their personal ventures. This collaboration has significantly advanced youth empowerment and capacity building in Afijio, and we are proud to have partnered with such a competent and committed team.”

How Mentorship Helped Me Transition into Sustainability & Data

When I began my career journey, I had a strong passion for environmental sustainability and a dream of working in an interdisciplinary field combining data science with environmental impact. But making such a significant career shift wasn’t easy. My background was in chemical engineering, and I didn’t know where to start. That’s when Ms. Sefunmi, my mentor at the time, stepped in. Her guidance helped transform my ambition into a structured, achievable goal. Her approach was both practical and inspiring. The first piece of advice she gave me was simple but critical: have a clear, actionable plan. Together, we built a roadmap with specific, measurable goals and outlined the steps I needed to take to achieve them. But she didn’t stop at planning—she also helped me stay accountable. I created a progress report that I would regularly update and review with her. Writing down my career vision and financial goals gave me clarity and motivation. Seeing my journey unfold step by step gave me confidence that I was on the right path. As someone naturally introverted, networking and speaking up were daunting for me. But my mentor reframed it: sharing my expertise wasn’t about self-promotion but about offering value to others. This perspective helped me stay focused and prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by the scale of the change I was working toward. Another invaluable piece of advice she gave me was to follow industry leaders and get a feel for the field. She even went a step further, arranging a meeting for me with experts in the environmental sustainability field.Their insights were transformative. They recommended communities I could volunteer with and resources that would sharpen my skills. With about a year of consistent effort, I began to see real progress. I landed a job as a data analyst, earned a Microsoft certification, and even scored an interview for a scholarship to study an interdisciplinary course in data science and sustainability. Although I didn’t get the scholarship, the experience was a major win in itself, showing me how far I had come. These experiences not only strengthened my skills but also gave me confidence in my career path. For anyone considering a career change or looking to grow professionally, here’s my advice: 1. Set a Clear Plan with SMART Goals – Break your vision into manageable steps to avoid feeling overwhelmed. 2. Connect with Industry Leaders – Follow their work, study their skills, and connect where possible. Their journeys can offer valuable inspiration and direction. 3. Find a Mentor or Career Coach – Having someone to guide and hold you accountable is a game-changer. 4. Network and Share Your Knowledge – Think of networking as a way to offer value, not just to promote yourself. 5.Be Persistent and Open to Setbacks – Progress isn’t always linear, but every step forward matters. And most importantly, trust that with focus and guidance, your career vision is within reach.

Leveraging MASP to Scale Strategic Alliances

My name is Ruby Igwe, Country General Manager at ALX Nigeria. I joined MASP to refine my ability to develop and sustain high-impact partnerships, particularly in a dynamic and resource-driven environment like ALX. Given the importance of strategic collaborations in scaling impact, I wanted to enhance my approach to stakeholder engagement and value-driven partnerships. Since completing the workshop, I’ve been more intentional about structuring partnership conversations, ensuring clear alignment between organizational goals and partner expectations. The frameworks shared have helped me negotiate better, identify mutual value propositions, and build more sustainable and strategic alliances. One key takeaway for me was the importance of mapping stakeholders effectively and understanding their motivations beyond just transactional engagements. This has enabled me to craft more compelling partnership pitches and deepen relationships with key partners. I would highly recommend MASP to programs and partnerships managers because it provides practical tools, real-world case studies, and actionable strategies to navigate complex partnerships. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, secure funding, or build long-term collaborations, this workshop equips you with the skills needed to drive meaningful impact. Thanks again for the opportunity to share my experience!

Strengthening Stakeholder Engagement: Lessons from MASP

Hello, I am Diana Kwamboka, the current Government Relations Lead at BURN Manufacturing. As I considered the offer for this role and reviewed my key deliverables, I recognized that stakeholder management, partnership building, effective communication, and stakeholder engagement were essential skills for success. While I had developed these skills in my previous roles, I knew that the scope of this new position required me to strengthen them further. That realization led me to enrol in the Mastering Strategic Partnerships class. From the beginning, I was intentional about what I wanted to learn and why it was important. The first session was a key highlight for me because we were asked about our expectations and what we aimed to achieve by the end of the workshop. That was my moment to define my learning objectives: 1. How to make cold calls effectively 2. How to read and interpret non-verbal cues—where a “yes” might actually mean “no” 3. How to manage multiple stakeholders efficiently With these goals in mind, my mission began. I knew that if I could master these, I would be set for success. I felt ready to take on the world—after all, who runs the world? (Girls). By the end of the six-week workshop, I had gained far more than I had expected. Making cold calls became as easy as calling a close friend. One key takeaway about making cold calls was the importance of thorough research—learning as much as possible about the person you’re reaching out to, understanding what they care about, and ensuring that your ask aligns with their interests. Additionally, I learned the importance of having a stakeholder tracking tool to record conversations, commitments, and key insights. This not only makes follow-ups seamless but also ensures that every interaction is strategic and well-documented. Armed with these insights, I felt fully prepared to deliver in my new role. And as fate would have it, within my first month, I had two major deliverables: 1. Organizing a stakeholder meeting with key individuals I had never interacted with before. 2. Creating an Excel tracking tool to map out all the associations we are part of and identify key stakeholders we should be engaging with and why. Both tasks turned out to be a breeze. I successfully scheduled the stakeholder meeting within two weeks of joining, and today, my partners and I have built strong working relationships. I also developed a centralized stakeholder tracking tool, which has become an invaluable resource, allowing easy access to stakeholder information whenever needed. This experience not only strengthened my confidence but also reaffirmed the power of strategic partnerships in driving meaningful engagements.
